Lynchburg Sports Bars Ready for World Series

It’s tough to find a good sports bar (or any bar) in Lynchburg, but there are a few standouts that make for the perfect place to celebrate American baseball.

Whether it’s hoisting a few beers and cheering on your favorite team or bringing the family out for dinner and a baseball game on television, these are the places to be in the Hill City this month:

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar - 3212 Wards Rd, Lynchburg – They have great food, with a full menu and reasonable drink prices. The place is clean, has plenty of televisions to watch the playoffs and the World Series and is family-friendly. Menu includes some of hottest wings in town and a full kids menu, too.

Conveniently located on Wards Rd, Buffalo Wild Wings is easy to access from any part of town or from Hwy. 29 and Hwy 460. The crowd ranges from families to college students from nearby universities. Smoke-free throughout and non-alcoholic beverages are available as well. For more information, visit www.buffalowildwings.com.

Wings-Pizza-N-Things – 2650 Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights – This is a typical mom-and-pop pizza/sports bar located on Business Rt. 29 in Madison Heights. While not much to look at from the outside, the inside has been completely renovated. This is a “locals” type establishment, with lots of cold beer and fresh pizza. Other items are on the menu as well. While children are welcome, this is not the place to bring the kids during a baseball game. Televisions are scattered throughout and will be tuned to various sports programs during any visit. At the busiest times, it will get extremely noisy inside. Owners and wait staff are a tad bit slow to provide service, so enjoy the baseball games while you wait for your meal.

Mudpuppy’s Pub – 3225 Old Forest Rd, Lynchburg – Nestled on the business stretch of Old Forest Road, Mudpuppy’s is a quaint little locally-owned pub and sports bar. Menu choice is a bit limited for my taste, but everything I’ve eaten there is tasty and hot. The hamburgers are pretty good for a bar, and the prices are fair. Televisions will be tuned to all playoff games, and daily specials will be posted on each table.
