dizziness and loss of balance?
Q: Lately ive been experiencing moments of slight dizziness and a slight loss of balance but its not really nausea. Sometimes i find myself swaying slightly left to right or forward and back when im standing still. I also have a little trouble finding some energy. I could make myself fall asleep any time of the day with little effort. i wake up in the morning with the back of my ear drums clogged but it would go away after a few minutes. I dont if its my eyes or ears or watever thats causing my symptoms. This never happened before. Im very athletic, my diet is well balanced and i get relatively good sleep every night. Can anyone tell me what this/these could be?
A: it’s called vertigo. try taking 10mg of stugeron, an over the counter medicine, everytime it occurs..it will give you a quick relief but it won’t cure it.
My question is that my mother is of 60 yrs. For the past fortnight she used to have a feeling of balance loss.
Q: Just a couple of days earlier she developed extreme fatigue, lethargy, dizziness, balance loss, nausea. Though she is very lean & thin, she is very hardworking but these days she is bed ridden. She has feverish feelings but no fever. she has also lost appetite and hardly could eat anything. her doctor has checked her blood sodium levels which was very low at 110.Now she is put on I.V. sodium chloride hypertonic. She used to be on blood pressure pills and pills for migraine attacks and anti depressants pills for the last 6 years. I want to know is the low sodium content the only reason for her condition or there could be any other reason for those symptoms. Her albumin level is at 3mg which is again, I suppose, very low. Also the U.S.G of the upper abdomen shows some fluid formation there. What is it for.??Is it something to worry for??
A: it is VERY possible that the low sodium is the main cause.Older people should not drink lots of water either because they lose the sodium when they urinate. When my dads sodium level dropped below 130 he would hallucinate VERY bad.He would become very confussed etc just like your mom.My dads doctor told us just to let him drink a glass of water a day and also gave him sodium pills.Have your doctor keep track of your moms sodium level !
should i see a doctor or a psychiatrist?
Q: I have been having these symptoms, Anxiety, dizziness, loss of balance, disorientation, confusion, heart pounding shortness of breath, weak/tired, shakes, fear of doom and fits of rage. I don’t have insurance and i want to know, (hopefully from a doctor or nurse or someone with experience), who should i see? I was about to go to the emergency room earlier but thought they would just look at me for a second and brush me off. IDK what to do…
A: With no insurance, your best bet is to go to your local health department. They have plenty of great services and you dont need an appointment. Most services are charged on a sliding scale fee.
