Bible Stories for Children

The bible says that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God was there but all else was void and darkness. God created the earth that we live on. He made the dirt and the sky and every living plant and animal. WOW! On the first day God created light. He is so omni, totally capable and powerful that he simply said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God called the light day and the dark he called night thus dividing the two.

On the second day God made Heaven. He made a firmament with water above and below and he called the firmament Heaven. On the third day God said, ” Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear,” and it was so. He called the dry land Earth and the water he called seas. He made grass and herbs to yeild seeds for new and continuous growth. He made fruit trees with their seeds inside themselves like peaches and apples. and pears and more

On the fourth day God created lights in the firmament of heaven to divide day and night, and for signs, seasons, days and years. He made two great lights. He made the sun a greater light, a larger light to rule the day and the moon a lesser, smaller light to rule the night. God also made the stars. He set them all in the firmament just where he wanted them to be.

On the fifth day God created every moving water creature that has life, fish, turtles, whales and so much more. He also created all the fowl that fly above the earth from the tiny wren to the beautiful parrot and every other bird of the air. God spoke to them saying, ” Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

On the sixth day God created the living creatures on the earth’s surface. He created cattle, creeping things, and beasts. He created lizards, snakes, ox and buffalo and every living mammal, reptile, spider and beyond. Then God created man in his own image. God created a male and a female and he blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth, subdue it and have dominion over the fish, and everything that moveth upon the earth.”

On the seventh day God rested. God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it. What a beautiful work God performed. Looking around the globe there are giraffes and snow leopards, koala bears and kangaroos, panda bears and chimpanzees, horses and antelope, seals and polar bears, orchids and roses, butterflies and bumble bees, willow trees and giant oaks, waterfalls and mountain tops. There is Spring with its rebirth, Summer with its harvests, Autumn with its vibrant colors and signs of rest and Winter with its frost and snow and shutting down only to start over again and again,

There is the big dipper and the changing moon. Only God could have given us such beauty and wonder. There is jungle, desert and forrest, pineapple, pomagranit, berries, bananas, and nuts, and so much more. Around every bend there is something new and HE created it all for us to enjoy.

Thank you God for all we see,
The Iris and the bumble bee.
Thank you God for nature’s sounds,
Precious noises all around.
Thank you God for our soul.
To take it all in, is our goal.
For all you made in those six days,
We give thanks for always.
And for the seventh day of rest,
We enjoy it very best,
A time to relax, enjoy and feel,
All that’s good, worship and kneel,
On our knees, in awe it’s true,
In Jesus name Lord, we love you.
