Christmas Trains & Santa Trains Out West

What better way to start off the holiday season than with a holiday train ride? Visit one or more of these festive Christmas trains out West with the family to start or continue a holiday tradition to last a lifetime.

Fillmore & Western Railroad Company. Join the “Christmas Tree Holiday Train” or the “Santa Shopper Train” beginning in November and running through the third weekend in December to get you in the holiday spirit. With these two unique holiday train adventures, you’ll be able to pick your own Christmas tree to take home to decorate and/or shop for the perfect Christmas gifts as the Santa Shopper holiday train stops at Loose Caboose Garden Center and Emporium. Prices for this Christmas train ride starts at $22 for seniors, $24 for adults, kids ages 4 to 12 will pay $14, kids 2 to 3 pay $10 and children under 2 can ride the holiday train for free if they sit on an adult’s lap. Also a part of the Fillmore & Western Railroad Company in California, the “Dinner with Santa” train and “The North Pole Express” will be running this holiday season. Join Santa on one of two different Friday nights in December as he hosts his annual “Dinner with Santa”Christmas train ride. Hop aboard the Santa train to eat dinner with Santa, tell him what you want for Christmas and take lots of pictures. Train ticket prices include dinner and starts at around $50 per adult, $30 per child, and children 2 and under can ride free, but the little ones will need to eat from mom and dad’s plate.

“The North Pole Express” is set to begin boarding near the end of November and will run until the day after Christmas. Children will love the decorated Christmas train as it chugs along down the tracks while they listen to a magical Christmas story being read. Kids can munch on cookies and drink chocolate milk as they await their arrival to met Santa Claus. Sing-a-long to well known Christmas carols as the Christmas train ride takes you to the North Pole. Tickets for adults start at $29, those for kids ages 2 to 12 cost around $20, and kids under 2 years of age will ride free on an adults lap. For more information, call 805-524-2546.

Santa’s North Pole Adventure. On the third weekend in November, Santa is scheduled to arrive at the Georgetown Loop Railroad in Colorado. Take a ride on Santa’s North Pole Adventure train or the Holiday Lights Train set to run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the end of November and continuing through the month of December. Often, closer to Christmas, the Christmas trains may run throughout the weekdays, as well. There will be several departure times each day, so check with the ticket office for the best time to take your family on this Christmas train ride through Colorado.
