Packers Prediction: Green Bay Will Remain Unbeaten Against the Vikings

Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a Super Bowl ring, he has thrown a gazillion touchdown passes (give or take) and has to be the early favorite for NFL league MVP this year. But, one thing he hasn’t done since taking over as the Packers starter is win the NFC North Division.

This, of course, is a testament to how competitive the NFC North is and the reason why, anytime they face a division rival, the Packers have a chance to see their winning streak snapped.

Even though they are currently 1-5, I will include the Minnesota Vikings in this category; mostly because they are playing at home. The Vikings are struggling but, for some reason, they always seem to improve drastically whenever they face Green Bay in Minnesota.

In fact, I think this game will be closer than it looks on paper. The Vikings may or may not make a quarterback change this week, which will create some game planning headaches for the Packers. And, if Minnesota does make a change to their rookie quarterback Christian Ponder, Green Bay will be facing a player with very little game film to study. If this doesn’t seem like a big deal, rewind back to two years ago when the Packers faced Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Josh Freeman in his first start. And, in that game, they didn’t need to stop running back Adrian Peterson.

That being said, I do still think this will be a Packers victory; mostly because of Rodgers and the high powered Green Bay offense. The defense may or may not have problems in this game. But, even if they do, I still don’t think Minnesota will outscore the Packers’ offense.

Packers 35-Vikings 27
