Making a Difference, Changes This Fall

One Million Moms is a network of Christian moms and grandmothers who are taking a stand for our children who are being exploited by the entertainment industry.

By taking a stand, many sponsors to the entertainment business and retailers, are listening to the growing voice of this united network.

Some recent OMM victories through support of phone calls, e-mails, and Facebook are :

1.) Dancing with the Stars, aired something offensive, and sponsors such as, Avon, Lowe’s, Cover Girl, Diet Coke, Applebee’s, Victoria’s Secret, State Farm, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls pulled their sponsorship of the program.

2.) Ben and Jerry’s, “Schweddy Balls,” ice cream has been pulled from the shelves of retailers such as, Wal-Mart, Kroger, while Stop and Shop refuses to carry the ice cream, along with others.

3.) The first program of the season to be cancelled, “The Playboy Club,” which was not the family friendly program it was promised to be.

4.) JC Penney was noted to send a letter of apology for their offensive commercials, as a result of correspondence by OMM.

5.) Sears recently removed a graphic zombie image after a single phone call from OMM, because of the reputation, support, and credibility.

I can’t help but be reminded of how David, rich in faith towards God, stood up and went against a giant who was taunting the armies of the living God. It took courage to stand against a giant, but God was with David and delivered Him. His words ring true today, “What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” 1 Samuel 17:29 (KJV)
