Did You Know There’s an Indoor Park in NYC?

I don’t know about you, but one of the things I dislike about Winter, is being cooped up indoors. Not being able to sit outside. Not being able to see green. Missing the smell of fresh cut flowers. Lack of sunshine. :(

What if I told you, that you could enjoy all the pleasures of sitting in a park but indoors? Sound crazy? No, it sounds like Openhouse Gallery.

Openhouse Gallery is this wonderful oasis in Nolita/Soho, that brings the outdoors indoors, in the dead of winter. Trees, grass, benches, flowers, blankets, hammocks, picnic tables, birds chirping and even free wi-fi. Or as I like to call it…HEAVEN!

When we heard they were hosting an Afternoon Tea, we knew it was time to check it out.

When we entered the park, it was like entering Wonderland. People were laughing, lounging and happy!! Children were rolling in the grass and enjoying being free. But where’s the tea party? “Head towards the tree house.”

The Tea Party was hosted by the sweet staff of Tea By Tiffany. They set a lovely table with crisp white linens, vintage teacups, vintage teapots and array of tasty treats. Finger sandwiches, scones, biscuits, whoopie pies, cakes and rice crispy treats….oh my! I grabbed a cafe table under a tree and enjoyed a proper cup of green tea.

As I nibbled on my treats and drank my tea, all the stress of the day faded away. Aaahhh!!! There is nothing like a cup of tea, to make things better.

Openhouse Gallery is open to the public and is FREE. Mornings are for city Moms ONLY, and afternoons are for everyone. They hosts different events throughout the season. Movies, music and even “The Best Grilled Cheese Contest.” Bring your laptop, bring your friends or bring yourself, and enjoy this secret little oasis in the middle of NYC.

Thank you Tiffany, Greg and the entire staff at Openhouse Gallery for a wonderful afternoon.

Happiness, $25 and under.
