Review of Freeman Mint and Lemon Clay Facial Mask

As a teenager, I would always find myself buying up one time use clay masks at Walmart for under $1.00. Freeman has been around for years and even though I find application of clay masks to be messy and tedious, I had always had good results with them. However, as I grew older, I began replacing these low priced masks with higher end lotions, scrubs, and serums. Freeman facial masks had quickly become a thing of the past.

The reason I picked up Freeman Mint and Lemon Clay Facial Mask was because I had noticed that my skin was becoming more oily than usual, and this particular mask promised to absorb oil, while giving my face a deep to the pore cleansing.

Application:

As with any facial mask, you want to start with dirt and makeup free skin. The next step is simply applying the mask to your face. I apply the entire contents of the bag, as saving it is worthless.

The very first thing I noticed when it came to Freeman Mint and Lemon Clay Facial Mask, was that it had a really disgusting Lysol lemon scent to it. I was not to keen with keeping this household furniture cleaner type scent on my skin, and it made me worry about breakouts.

The tingling sensation begins nearly immediately. It’s a cool feeling, but after a few minutes becomes slightly irritating.

Once the mask was fully dried out and I looked like a zombie with cracked skin, I then filled a large bowl with warm water, and got hold of some paper towels to begin the dabbing/wiping process of removing the mask. You could easily just wash your face off under a skin, but I like going about it in this manner as it feels like I get a deeper clean feeling if I remove the clay mask in a slower more precise manner.

Results:

My skin definitely felt fantastic after the removal of the mask, but my skin always feels fantastic after I pamper it in this manner, and spend so much time on it.

As far as keeping the skin from feeling to dry, you will want to add a moisturizer after using this mask, or you could end up with dry patches.

For the remainder of the day after applying this mask, my skin was no longer oily, nor did a tint of shine even surface, which is rare for my skin.

Overall:

It is messy, it smells like furniture polish, but it does what it says it will do. I plan on picking up more of these masks for summer time when my skin is more oily and shiny than usual.
