Bleeding and severe pelvic pain for 1 1/2 years, Lupron?
Q: I’m 23 years and have been having constant heavy bleeding (as heavy as a period), with even heavier periods and constant severe pelvic pain for about a year and a half. I have been to 2 different OB/GYNs, including my current doctor who is a pelvic pain specialist. I have been on 5 different birth control pills and the depo shot, which have only made things worse. I have been through more tests and procedures than I can count. I have had 2 laparoscopies in the past 6 months. On my first lap. my old doc said she found nothing and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. On my second lap. my new doc said he found adhesions, but nothing else. He said it’s still possible that I have endometriosis (especially since I have 2 women in my family with it) or adenomyosis, but that maybe he just wasn’t able to see it. He talked me into trying Lupron, even though I am very nervous about the possible side effects. I have been on the Lupron for about 3 weeks now and haven’t noticed much difference. My doc said that if the Lupron doesn’t help that all of these problems are NOT gynecological. My question is, how could these problems not be gynecological?!? How could constant vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain not be gynecological? Him stating this does not make any sense to me. At this point, I’m considering a hysterectomy as I can’t live with this hell anymore after a year and a half. My doc told me that if the Lupron didn’t work he would never do a hysterectomy on me because he said if the Lupron didn’t work doing a hysterectomy wouldn’t work either. I really don’t understand why removing my uterus wouldn’t stop the constant bleeding and pain. I was just wondering what everyone thought about this situation and what my doc has told me. Thanks for the help!!
A: There is not a doubt in my mind at all that you have severe endometriosis you need to get to a endo specialist and they ae very hard to find. there is a web sight call endozone.com log on their and the woman and girls will help you and tell you where to go for help. endo cannot be seen by just any gyne that is why it gets misdiagnosed so many times .I will tell you that the adhesion’s you have are more than likely due to endo and unless your gyne did a biopsy then how was he supposed to know. adhesion’s just don’t appear without a reason. there also is a doctor who’s name is dr. redwine he is very good look up his name on google and go from there. endo is nothing to take lightly it is a very serious disease that could cause you severe complications! you have been suffering for along time now and the reason you have no relief is because nobody has removed any of it yet. find someone right away to help you you might even have to go out of your state to find a well informed endo doctor. good luck! make sure you go on that web site i gave you!!
My Girlfriend Is Bleeding-We’re Not Sure if She’s Pregnant?
Q: My girlfriend and I had sex 2 weeks ago with a condom. It broke because we kept changing positions. I only realized that after ejaculation, but I know that no sperm was released inside her vagina. At worst, the semen was released only at her vulva. That’s because it’s already our practice to use withdrawal even if I’m wearing a condom. However, I took note of the possibility that the sperm would swim up the vagina through her vaginal liquid. That is why I washed her vagina and outer genitals out with germicidal soap.A few days later, we begin to think that my girlfriend is pregnant. I gave her aspirin to drink, Cortal to be specific-take 3 times a day dissolved in softdrinks. In fact, sometimes she takes it dissolved in beer. My girlfriend is a punk when it comes to lifestyle. She loves alcohol, smoking and the like. That’s why I took note of those factors. She’s also under a lot of pressure and stress. She has a horrible mom who makes her do a lot of physical work at home. They’re filthy rich, but have a phobia of maids so she has to cook, clean, do laundry, do the garden, fix the roof and everything else. Also, she’s a student of one of the most difficult universities in our country. She’s taking an MA in political economy like me and is just one year behind. In fact, because of her mom, I have to help her write papers and do research but she falls asleep right beside me-because of her mom’s terrible attitude, my girlfriend only gets 2 to 5 hours of sleep a day and at most only 2 meals.Today though, she began bleeding, even if her period is due for next week. Is it possible that the aspirin, the softdrinks, the alcohol, the stress, the physical work and pressure removed that baby (if it was even there)? I wasn’t able to see the blood if it was brown, fresh or even thick like when a woman menstruates. All I know is that she is bleeding and that I took all possible measures to stop that baby.
A: Okay i recognize that you may not want to have a kid.. but washing her out with germacidal soap is really bad for her when used internally. Also, giving someone aspirin mixed with alcohol can kill a person-are you aware of that? Its very dangerous…Stress and lifestyle plays a major factor in late or missed perods. Possible she is pregnant and she is implanting bleeding..You may just be a father..If she is concerned about getting pregnant, you need to get her on birth control because your measures you are using right now, arent safe in terms of keeping her healthy.
Lupron shots for 1 year?? Need advice!?
Q: I’m 23 years old and have had constant heavy vaginal bleeding and severe pelvic pain for the last year and a half. My doc did a laparoscopy and said he only found adhesions, which he removed, but no endometriosis or anything else. He suggested I try Lupron, since I have tried 5 different types of birth control pills which haven’t worked. I reluctantly agreed to try the Lupron. I have now been on Lupron for about 3 months. I have had some side effects which I hate, but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. My doc said he wants me to stay on the Lupron for 1 year without a break and without add-back therapy. I have done a lot of research on Lupron and everything I have read says that someone should only be on Lupron for 6 months at a time. Why would my doc put me on it for a year when it states that you are only supposed to be on it for 6 months? Is it more dangerous to be on it for a year instead of 6 months at a time? I’m afraid to be on it for so long after reading horror stories of women who have only had one shot. I’m afraid if I’m on it for so long I will have a lot of long-term side effects. I really did not even want to be on Lupron in the first place, but my doc made me feel like I had no other choice and I’m desperate for a solution to my pain and bleeding. I would really appreciate everyone’s opinions and any personal experiences with Lupron. Thanks!!
A: You should get a second opinion.
