I tend to get nosebleeds just before I start my period. Are these connected in any way?
About 3-4 days before I get my period, I tend to get nosebleeds. And they’re pretty bad. Are these two things connected in any way, or is it just coincidence?

I don’t get nosebleeds, but I tend to have blood in my snot/boogs.I have heard of this – I think for pretty bad one’s like you say, it’s like some sort of medical condition – I was googling ‘menstrution’ and ‘bleeding nose’ etc some months back, as although I don’t get a nose-bleed before every period, I have noticed that if I have a cold or something (so that my nose has taken a beaten from being blown and sniffed etc!) if it does bleed at all it’s nearly ALWAYS when I’ve just started my period. If they’re really bad and causing you a lot of hassle maybe you could ask your doctor if there’s anything that can be done to help avoid them?
I do too. Many people have spontaneous nose bleeds just before their periods. Does anyone else in your family have them? It isn’t uncommon that the other women in your family have them as well. They can come in cycles in which you have them for several cycles and then nothing for awhile and they start again.Don’t worry. Are you able to stop the flow of blood at home?
Quite common I think. It must be hormonal. The feminine protection companies should make us something we can put around our noses too! Just kidding.
Yes. somehow. because when we have our periods, our core body temperature is high. high body temp can cause nosebleeding.
