I want to lose weight but i don’t want to starve myself. If you have lost weight, how did you do it?

I worked at a pizza place! We never stopped running and the air always went out! Great exercise took 100lbs off me without sacrificing one bite…..but now I work in a clerical setting and it is coming back! I suggest exercise for you and myself!! LOL

I had to work out…allot and consistantly.I worked out from January to May and lost 20 lbs. I would also eat healtier alternatives (not neccessarily the fake low fat crap). I would eat salads, fruits, breads, meat, etc. Lowered the intake of sugar, cokes, pastries…you know unhealthy food. I ate it occationally, but overall tried to eliminate it completely.Working out was about 1 hr a day, mainly cardio…you know running or playing basketball or swimming. Occationally I did some weights. I plan on starting it back up again in 2 weeks, I havent had time all summer.

Okay…..this is what I did.I changed my diet. Laid off of fast foods, ate more veggies and fruit. I didn’t treat my new eating habits as a diet, because if you do, you will take it as a diet, and a diet is temp. I went on a protein diet. I ate chicken, fish, egg whites (hard boiled) milk, fruits, veggies, drink 8-12 glasses of water, protein bars, protein shakes (can find at health food store) whole wheat (bread limit your amount). Just the healthy stuff. Now don’t get me wrong, it is okay to eat some fats like chips etc, but every once in a while. But when you start to change your eating habits, stay away from junk. Don’t drink soda’s etc. I lost 51lbs. It took me 3yrs, but that is very healthy. You don’t put weight on over night…..so don’t expect it to come off over night. All of this should help you. Exercising. I ran, and walk a lot. EVERYDAY! I worked out on machines, exercise ball. Bike riding. All the stuff that was active. So when you make changes, you will see results. Through my weight loss I have never had to starve myself once. It is okay to fast sometimes….but not starving yourself! That is a misconception of loosing weight. Weigh yourself every 2 months. Not everyday…you will get discourage. Hopefully this helps. YOU CAN DO IT! Be consistent, and don’t give up! Let me know the results. Eat in portions…..take everything in moderation

You can lose weight by eating GOOD nourishing meals regularly. Eat a little less than you are eating now AND exercise. Even if you just walk at a fast pace in the beginning that would help you to start to lose weight. It should be a slow process to be sucessful. You did not get “fat” in a day so do not expect to become slim in a day either.
I lost 42lbs on the South beach diet. I didn’t follow it 100% using the cookbook and all of that but I used the prinicples. It is the basics that get you to lose the weight. Also the late night snacking… and the sugar. good luck with the diet.
Don’t STARVE yourself, just eat less, but don’t stop yourself from eating anything apart from fats and oils (don’t avoid them completely either, just avoid deep fried oily food, those are considered bad carbs, and they’re just extra calories) and exercise. Remember, you need to eat enough to feel satisfied, but no more than that. Take your time over your meals, chew slowly, count to ten with each mouthful because then your body has time to realize it’s had enough. Check out these sites for the workouts programmes they have, and you can also calculate how many calories you need to maintain your current weight, then you can tone down a bit. Vomiting, taking diet pills. Okay no I’m kidding. Try cutting bread out of your diet (not completely-eat it at least once a week, or else you will start craving it in the absolute worst way) and increase your intake of fruit and veggies. Instead of a twinkie for snack..have two nectarines, water or gatorade. You might buy a food scale and measure your portions of the main entree at meals. 4 ounces is enough, you dont need a quarter pound of anything (hence no fast food unless youre eating a wilted salad) but if you can afford it, quiznos makes great healthy salads. and for your bread once a week-quiznos makes great sandwishes. or subway., but i hate subway. anyway. good luck. (oh yea dont forget to exercise-cardio) Exercise..
Cut out the fast food and take aways, eat healthy, don’t eat after 6, eat your biggest meal at lunch time, cutting out bread helps flatten your stomach, drink 2 litres of water a day and excrecise.
