From experience, I can tell you to hang in there. Obviously you had your ovaries removed, therefore if you choose to not take hormones – you will be miserable for quite some time. It has been three years since my hysterectomy-oopherectomy, so I can tell you that it will get much better. I can not take hormones so I have tried many alternatives. I’ve tried St. Johns Wort, green tea, soy, many over the counter menapause combinations and none of them have worked for me. The only thing that has helped is wellbutrin. Which is a antidepressant and it does help (somewhat) with hot flashes. If you notice, everytime you have a hot flash, you also have a wave of depression. Also, a good 20 minute walk every morning would do you some good. Be sure to drink lots of water every day. Now that you are in menapause, you will have a tendency to get bladder infections. If you are worried about feeling less of a woman, don’t worry about that. Everything will be different for a year or two, but your body will return mostly back to normal. I am 35 also, and in full menapause so I can relate to how you feel. When it gets to where you think you just can’t take it any more, just keep in mind, that you are living a pain free life.

You are in per-menopause if you still have your ovaries this is what is winding down. Ask the doctor about low dose birth control. They have a vaginal ring now that you can wear for 3 weeks and off 1. You have to dress in layers. I wore a sleeveless tank top presentable in public with a shirt over it.
