I want to ask her how old she was when she first got her period, but i dont know how to or if it’s a good idea. She is at college and the only why i talk to her during the year is on aim. I have already started mine (at eleven). But i want her to know that i only feel confortable with her, and open the comunication line. I can’t talk to my mom about anyting like this, or to many people because i cant really talk about things like this. Please help!THANK YOU!

never heard of a phone..tell her you look up to her
Let me start out first by letting you know that I have a daughter who is your exact age, and she too, got her first period this year(a couple of months after she turned 11). And if I’m not mistaken, that is right about the time I started my period also. I don’t think your hero should have any problems with you asking her what age she got her first period. I do however think that since she is away at college, your best bet is to find a time where you and your mom are alone and ask her if you can talk to her about some “girl stuff”. I’m sure she’ll get the picture about what you mean, and then you might want to ask her what age she was when she started. I think its best to bring it up to your mom since she’s physically there to help you out with your concerns. I know its a weird subject to talk to your mom about, (it was weird for me too at first, but afterward I was glad I did). I hope this helps you out. Good luck!
