If it’s a necessity and the benefits outweigh the risks (only your doctor would know this) then it’s OK while TTC..however if you become pregnant then definitely stop taking it then.

For now, the FDA recommends taking Lexapro and other SSRIs during pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh the possibility of harm. (most prescription drugs are given a category C) Lexapro and other SSRIs have been linked to a condition called Infant Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension (IPPH). IPPH involves abnormal blood flow through the heart and lungs. Babies with IPPH do not get enough oxygen to their bodies. This condition can be very serious, and babies with it may even die. So far, studies have shown that babies born to mothers who took Lexapro or other SSRIs after the twentieth week of pregnancy were 6 times more likely to develop IPPH than babies of moms who did not take antidepressants. Some babies have had to spend extra time in the hospital because they needed help with breathing and weren’t eating properly. A: i’ve also heard recently that they’re finding a link between ssris and some heart conditions in babies. it’s a really tough call. i also was taking lexapro for anxiety disorder/panic attacks and stopped when i found out i was pregnant. it was really hard to come off of it and i was depressed and real crappy feeling for awhile. i’m now 12 wks pregnant and am feeling better and haven’t had a panic attack yet (knock on wood!) so if you can handle coming off of it, you probably should but if you really can’t, maybe you could see about lowering your dose. good luck!
