Yes Source(s):Gods word I am catholic and i think that at the time the bible was written their way of counting years was much different than how we count them now. There is also the theory of the layer of ice the surrounded our atmosphere keeping the temperatures constant and the harmful rays of the sun out and allowing longer lifespans. The theory is that the ice was hit by a meteor that melted the ice and caused the great flood of Noah and his ark. Genesis 6:1-3 explains this:When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.”There were exceptions, of course, even after that, but that is when He decided the average life expectancy was too long.
