YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake

Approximately one month ago, my neighborhood Walgreens Pharmacy began stocking YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake. Situated in the bread aisle, near the Walgreens Cafe W and Nice brand products, these cakes caught my attention as soon as I saw them, because I am a big fan of blueberries and products that contain blueberries.

After seeing these cakes at Walgreens three or four times, I decided to purchase a two pack of these cakes a few nights ago and I’m very glad that I did so. Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is an article which reviews and examines YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake.

The net weight of the two pack of YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake is six ounces (170 grams). According to the product’s nutrition facts label, the containers holds four 1/2 cake servings.

As with many packaged food items, I think that this serving size is under-estimated. The instant I tasted one of these treats, I knew that I would eat at least one full cake, because it tasted so good.

In physical size, the package is fairly large, it measures roughly 9″ x 4.5″ x 3″ and each round yogurt cake is roughly 3″ inches across.

To be honest, I threw out the Walgreens receipt that contained the retail price charged for one six ounce package of YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cakes, but I’m fairly certain that the price is $1.29.

The retail price of these yogurt cakes seems very reasonable to me. They are priced lower than many name brand two packs of snack cakes and I think they are even better than most of those cakes.

Texture / Consistency
These yogurt cakes possess a delightful texture that makes them a real pleasure to eat. Their texture somewhat resembles that of muffins, only a little bit moister. The cakes are soft, with light swirls of blueberry throughout and a fairly small pool of blueberry filling.

The pleasing texture of these cakes is definitely one of the factors that makes me want to purchase and eat these cakes again. It was very hard to stop eating these yogurt cakes once I started and their texture was one of the things that I really liked about YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cakes. The overall mouth feel offered by these cakes is very satisfying.

Taste / Flavor
It’s always nice to discover new products that are very tasty, especially ones that unique or unusual. YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake is indeed a very flavorful item that is pretty unusual. It’s the first Greek yogurt cake I’ve seen and considering the popularity of Greek yogurt now, there will probably be other Greek yogurt snack cake items debuting in the future.

YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake offers a fairly light and not-too-sweet flavor. The cake is subtly sweet, but I think that much of the sweetness is derived from the blueberries. The Greek yogurt flavor is also subtle and the blueberries appear to be real.

If this cake contained more blueberry filling, I would enjoy eating even more than I already do. As they are, these cakes are quite excellent, though. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.50.

YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake is packaged in an attractive beigeish plastic wrapper. The front label on this item shows an illustration of one of the cakes and the rear label lists all relevant ingredient and nutritional information. Inside the box, the cakes rest on a cardboard sleeve.

Overall Rating
All things considered, the YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake is a refreshingly tasty new type of packaged snack cake. Reasonably priced, this cake is stocked and sold at Walgreens Pharmacies and at other food retailers.

YoGo Blueberry Greek Yogurt Cake is highly recommended by this food writer.
