A: I feel your pain. Each year I get a sinus infection (usually in January) and thereafter I have fluid in my ear until spring. The Doctors do not care and I have seen countless Doctors over the last 20 years. So long as the infection is cleared up, technically there is no problem, (since infections can eat the tiny bones in your ear and cause deafness) but it sure sucks, what can I say. The first answer “alcohol based product” to dry up an inner ear fluid, get real! Hope you have better luck than I have finding a solution. Your not alone on this one. Good luck
There is fluid behind my ears, how to get rid of it?
Q: The doc said I don’t have an ear infection, there is fluid behind my ears though…..she didn’t even tell me what to do to get rid of it though, so what should I do?
A: You can use Valsalva maneuver to open your eustachian tubes for it to drain into your nasopharynx. Plug your nose and close your mouth and blow into your closed mouth to create pressure, as when you “pop” your ears. This opens the tubes for drainage. You can try decongestants, which probably will do no good. In the meantime, be sure not to back any nasal discharge into your middle ear by forcibly blowing your nose. Hopefully the fluid will resolve over time.
had fluid behind ear drum for 6 weeks ears crackly and a bit deaf what can I take to get rid of it?
Q:
A: MIx 1/2 vinager with 1/2 alcohol. Put a few drops in each ear. That might work for you. The alcohol will dry up the fluid and the vinager acts as a skin softener so you don’t get any eczema in your ear canal. We use to do that as swimmers, always carried it around in a little jar with a dropper with our swim stuff. But if your ear starts to hurt, see a doctor, you may need an antibiotic to clear it up then. Good Luck
