Q: Please spare me the lectures about how I shouldn’t be having unprotected sex or sex at all at my age. I feel as if I’m old enough to have made the decision, and what’s done is done.Thanks in advance for the people who actually try to answer my question.I’m 17 and I lost my virginity yesterday. I’m on birth control because of a hormone imbalance, but I haven’t taken it in about 2 weeks. I know that was dumb of me, but what’s done is done. My periods are very off sometimes at times not occurring for months. I’ve been to the doctor about this and I’ve been told that I have Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome which makes things run very off. The Birth control was prescribed to keep my periods regular but they still don’t come at specific intervals. I know this will be a factor in finding out if I am pregnant or not. So I’m wondering based on people who have such problems and have been pregnant or not, how long it’s took for them to be able to find out if they’re pregnant. Thanks for your help. A: HiI wouldnt exactly call you “lucky” for having PCOS. I have also got PCOS. I ahve been on medication and now came off because i am trying for a baby. I have also missed my oeriod and am a week late. I have been taking tests but are coming up negative. You should leave it a good 3 weeks before doing your test as it is still too early even though ppl say take a test after the first day you missed your period it depends on when you had intercourse. But its way to early to tell yet. Good luck. 🙂

A: Do you know the first day of your last period? If so, you probably would have conceived about the 12th-16th day after that. I would wait til about the 23rd day of your cycle. Any ept test should work, I think that first response if one of the most sensitive. You can pretty much count on a positive result, but if you get a negative result re-take a few days later.
