Women trying to conceive have been taught the same myth so they only try to have sex around the 14th day of their cycle and since they didn’t ovulate on day 14 and gave up prematurely, then they don’t get pregnant. It’s really all about how generation and generation has been feeding the next misinformation. IF every teen was required to take my NFP/FAM fertility classes, there would be way less “accidental” pregnancies and way less people who think they are infertile after trying for over a year to get pregnant, but doing it incorrectly.As for the twins thing, it’s because the older you get, the closer you get to menopause. As you approach menopause your hormones start to change and sometimes you don’t have enough to make an egg develope which gives an annovulatory cycle-meaning no period, but then there are times when your body will put out twice as much hormone and drop multiple eggs.
